We continue to look for new and better ways to assist our technicians. One of the ways we are looking at improving the ground strategy is to provide a single high level schematic, that details each of the ground groupings for New Cascadia. The schematic would also document the module where each of the grounds are located.

Modules Location Examples:

Module Description

2YT GROUND, POWER TRAIN

2YU GROUND, EXTERIOR

28G GROUND-CAB INTERIOR

GROUND GROUPING

Notation

Type

Examples

GND_C

Control

Diagnostic,…

GND_D

Data

Dash switches (with no solenoid load)

GND_E

ECU

ABS ECU, ECC, ICU, IPPC

GND_R

Relay

Relay, Sensor

GND_I

Inductive

Motor, Solenoid

GND_P

Power

Lights, headlamp, spot lamp, utility lamp, CB

We are looking for feedback on this attached document for any differences you may see regarding the grounding circuits. Do be aware that the attached is an older high level print, so locations at the modules do not have the connectors or pins designated. Also the schematic is generic, so as you look through the different "Zones", you will notice all content. For example on the "Powertrain Zone" you will see both Cummins and HDEP. We will provide better information as we continue to improve on our documentation.
